Airsoft Pistols
Airsoft pistols are hobbyist replica firearms that fire small plastic pellets. They should not be confused with BB guns, which fire hard metal pellets at a greater speed. BB Guns fire at speeds of around 354 meters per second. By comparison, airsoft guns fire at speeds from of less than 180 meters per second. BB guns come with a much greater risk of causing bodily harm.
Airsoft pistols are required to have an orange plastic tip in order to distinguish them from actual deadly firearms. They have been created for the sole purpose of recreational use. An Airsoft gun can be, and often is, fired at another person in fun. A BB gun is far too dangerous to use in a play fight.

Airsoft Pistols – Choosing The Right Airsoft Pistols
When choosing an airsoft pistol, think about your intentions for its use. Do you intend to use it in serious airsoft pistol competitions? If so, you should look for a gas or electric powered airsoft rifle. These rifles have the extra power that you will find necessary when you’re engaged in the heat of the battle.
If you only intend to use your Airsoft pistols for the purpose of target practice, manual spring powered Airsoft pistols may be your best bet. These airsoft pistols are the least expensive kind, and they are perfectly adequate for the purpose of using in target practice. Spring loaded pistols should not be used in any competition however, because the spring needs to be reset after each shot. This requires extra time that you will not be able to afford when in the midst of a competition.
Also, consider your local weather conditions. If you are considering buying a gas powered gun, make sure that you live in a warm climate. The gas needs the warm air in order to expand and function at peak efficiency. If the weather gets too cold, the gas does not expand and the gun will not be as effective. If you live in a location where the weather changes depending on the seasons, you may find yourself limited to certain times of the year in order to use your pistol effectively, or be forced to only use it indoors during certain months.
Considering your budget is also an important factor when purchasing your airsoft pistols. They come in a wide range of prices and can fit almost any budget. However, as well as the up-front costs, you should also consider the maintenance costs, and any other expenses that may crop up. For example, automatic weapons will burn through your ammunition at a faster rate, and will therefore increase the amount you pay to stock up. If you purchase a gas powered Airsoft pistol, you will find yourself needing to buy gas canisters regularly.
It is also important to consider the quality of the gun. If it looks like it will break easily, it may not be that great of a deal, even if it is dirt cheap. A lower quality gun may suffice though, if you are only planning on using it lightly during target practice.
If you are serious about your airsoft pistols, you may want to ask yourself what kind of upgrades you will be able to perform on the gun. Some of the available pistols are very flexible and allow a great degree of freedom in terms of modifications. There are extra costs involved in upgrading as well. Consider the price of upgrading one gun compared to that of buying a better gun right off the bat.
Finally, always consider the functionality and performance of your gun to be a priority over aesthetics. The fanciest looking guns may not provide you with the performance that you desire. Durability and accuracy should always be the factors you value over the physical appearance of your airsoft pistol.
Airsoft Pistols – Co2 Powered Airsoft Pistols
A gas powered pistol is a popular choice for many people. Changing a Co2 cartridge if you are considering going that route can be involved. First, you must move the safety switch to the “on” position in order to make sure that the co2 cartridge cannot accidentally discharge and cause any injury.
Second, remove any packaging that has been containing the new co2 cartridge, except for the seal on the top of the cartridge. Do not break this seal under any circumstances. This seal is meant to be broken by the gun when installed, a feature that prevents the gas from leaking.
Third, open the gun’s side panel grip. It should come off fairly easily. At this point, you should see either an empty space with a safety screw, or your previous spent co2 cartridge. Before removing the old co2 cartridge, make sure that it has been fully spent. Removing a non empty cartridge will result in ruining a cartridge that still had some life left in it.
Fourth, unscrew the safety screw from the bottom of the Airsoft pistol’s grip and place the new co2 cartridge in its place with the smaller end facing upwards.
Fifth, screw back in the safety screw. This should automatically load the new co2 cartridge into the Airsoft pistol. Extra pressure may be needed while screwing in order to make sure that the seal is broken properly. Make sure to screw the new cartridge in quickly in order to ensure that no co2 escapes.
Sixth, replace the side panel of the Airsoft pistol grip. At this point, you should have a fully loaded Airsoft pistol that you can fire at will. Make sure to move the safety switch ìoffî from the “on” position before you start to use your Airsoft pistol. Only do this once you are ready to fire.
Owning an airsoft pistol can be a fun and rewarding experience that will allow you to take part in interesting competitions and connect with a variety of people who share your interests. It is a fascinating hobby that is sure to provide you with many hours of entertainment. Getting to know all you can about the airsoft pistols that are available and how to care for your equipment can help to make you a strong contender in any competitions among your peers.
More On Airsoft Pistols
Airsoft has really taken off. The more popular this activity gets, the more Airsoft pistols are made available by airsoft Pistols firearm manufacturers. Finding the best Airsoft pistol is dependent on your own gameplay, but there are a few pros and cons to consider with any airsoft firearm.
There are three major types of airsoft pistols: spring powered Airsoft Pistols, gas powered Airsoft Pistols and AEG (Automatic Electric Gun). Airsoft Pistols
Spring powered airsoft pistols were some of the first to be developed. These Airsoft pistols are more powerful, durable and provide superior shooting velocity. The tradeoff is that spring powered airsoft pistols are single shot firearms, meaning you will have to cycle another round after one shot. Apart from pistols, spring powered firearms are also available as shotguns and sniper rifles. A spring powered airsoft pistol makes a decent backup weapon since it’s not reliant on gas cartridges or batteries, and provides a real rough-and-tumble reliability.
Gas powered airsoft pistols are more compact that electric options and give you the ability to repeat fire. If you’re not playing in cooler temperatures or for longer match times, a gas powered pistol may be just what you’re looking for. However, if you are playing in colder outdoor temperatures, it’s likely you’ll notice a lacking performance as the temperature drops. Also keep in mind that the cost of gas canisters can quickly stack up during lengthier matches.
AEG (Automatic Electric Gun) airsoft pistols give you a few different firing mode options, including fully automatic. These pistols allow for easy upgrades and enable you to modify internals for a faster, more accurate shot. The tradeoff is that AEGs aren’t going to provide the power you’ll get with a spring or gas powered airsoft pistol. You also must take battery life into account, especially during extended matches. If those concerns are secondary to the rapid shot you’ll get, then an AEG airsoft pistol may be the best choice for you.
Regardless of what you use it for all Airsoft pistols are fun to use for people of all ages.
